I'm Benjamin Trust, a Junior at Sage Creek High School in Carlsbad, California. I'm currently studying abroad in Vaihingen an der Enz, Germany. I got the idea of studying abroad in my head when talking to my aunt about my cousin's travels abroad during her senior year in high school. Feeling that a similar experience would benefit me greatly, I thought about it. Honestly at that point, I didn't think it would actually happen. By a stroke of luck, I met a student from Sage Creek online who was studying abroad. By following her advice, I contacted AFS USA and began the [long] process of preparing for a year abroad. In Germany, I live with a host family (as opposed to living in a dorm or whatnot). Back in the U.S., I enjoy making jewelry, reading, playing games with my friends, and studying languages.
